The smell of bread baking wafts, stills her light
\nas she enters bouncing, screen door clanging.
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Show me, Grandma. I want to know.<\/em>
\nFor the next batch, she is held firm between
\nwarm embrace and floured dough upon tan
\ntable. She\u2019s stunned by the flowing union
\nof grandma\u2019s arms and shaking dough.
\nPunch into the metal bowl, there you go.
\nThe holy is here in the expanding yeast,
\nin the building of love\u2019s awed vitality.
\nRising bread and growing girl, all glory
\nand praise is poured forth in the communion
\nof kneading dough.<\/p>\n
