Today is the World Day of Prayer for Creation<\/a>!<\/p>\n

This is an ecumenical and global day of prayer. \u00a0World-wide, Christians are united in prayer for the healing of this sacred home and our Sister, Mother Earth. Out of love for her, we pray in hope and thanksgiving.<\/p>\n

Here in La Crosse, Wisconsin we are keeping vigil round the clock in our perpetual adoration chapel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Here is one of the particular prayers we are praying:<\/p>\n

A Christian prayer in union with creation<\/strong><\/em>
\nBy Pope Francis, Laudato Si<\/em><\/p>\n

Father, we praise you with all your creatures.\u00a0<\/em>
\nThey came forth from your all-powerful hand;<\/em>
\nthey are yours, filled with your presence and your tender love.<\/em>
\nPraise be to you!<\/em><\/p>\n

Son of God, Jesus,<\/em>
\nthrough you all things were made.<\/em>
\nYou were formed in the womb of Mary our Mother,<\/em>
\nyou became part of this earth,<\/em>
\nand you gazed upon this world with human eyes.<\/em><\/p>\n

Today you are alive in every creature<\/em>
\nin your risen glory.<\/em>
\nPraise be to you!<\/em><\/p>\n

Holy Spirit, by your light<\/em>
\nyou guide this world towards the Father\u2019s love<\/em>
\nand accompany creation as it groans in travail.<\/em>
\nYou also dwell in our hearts\u00a0<\/em>
\nand you inspire us to do what is good.<\/em>
\nPraise be to you!<\/em><\/p>\n

Triune Lord, wondrous community of infinite love,<\/em>
\nteach us to contemplate you<\/em>
\nin the beauty of the universe,<\/em>
\nfor all things speak of you.<\/em>
\nAwaken our praise and thankfulness<\/em>
\nfor every being that you have made.\u00a0<\/em>
\nGive us the grace to feel profoundly joined<\/em>
\nto everything that is.<\/em><\/p>\n

God of love, show us our place in this world<\/em>
\nas channels of your love<\/em>
\nfor all the creatures of this earth,<\/em>
\nfor not one of them is forgotten in your sight.<\/em><\/p>\n

Enlighten those who possess power and money<\/em>
\nthat they may avoid the sin of indifference,<\/em>
\nthat they may love the common good, advance the weak,\u00a0<\/em>
\nand care for this world in which we live.<\/em>
\nThe poor and the earth are crying out.<\/em><\/p>\n

O Lord, seize us with your power and light,\u00a0<\/em>
\nhelp us to protect all life,<\/em>
\nto prepare for a better future,<\/em>
\nfor the coming of your Kingdom<\/em>
\nof justice, peace, love and beauty.<\/em>
\nPraise be to you!<\/em><\/p>\n

We pray in joy and wonder.<\/p>\n
