talks with Sister Nicole Trahan about the Marianist charism and how she became a Marianist sister. They talk about how it&#8217;s vital to decenter Eurocentric mindsets in order for the Church to become more inclusive and equitable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They also discuss the beauty in the midst of the mess. &#8220;The messiness doesn&#8217;t have to be an obstacle, it can be a grace because a lot of times it&#8217;s the messiness that causes transformation,&#8221; Sister Nicole explains. &#8220;If we actually walk through it and love each other through it, it can be transformational.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sister Julia and Sister Nicole contemplate privilege: why it&#8217;s important to notice who benefits from systems of injustice and why it&#8217;s critical to imagine new ways share power. They also talk about why Catholic schools need to teach the dark side of Catholic Church history, and how we are called to truth-telling and transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABOUT THE GUEST:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sister Nicole Trahan is a native of Orange, Texas, and a member of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate. She serves her congregation as a member of the provincial leadership team, vocations director and director of the pre-novitiate program. She is also a part-time campus minister at Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School.<br><br>With masters&#8217; degrees in Catholic School Leadership and Pastoral Ministry, Sister Nicole has a background in teaching theology, collegiate and secondary campus ministry, retreat design and leadership, and spiritual accompaniment. She has a passion for faith formation and leadership development, especially for young people. This passion is matched by her dedication to seeking justice.<br><br>She is also a regular contributor to National Catholic Reporter\u2019s Global Sisters Report and enjoys writing on various topics.
